Une version live de cette chanson, enregistrée le 11 novembre 1992 dans les studios de télévision de MTV, figure sur l'album et sur la vidéo MTV UnPlugged. Une autre version live, enregistrée le 1er juillet 2000 au Madison Square Garden de New York City, est disponible sur l'album Live in New York City. La seule version studio de Light Of Day est celle enregistrée par Joan Jett qui interprête le rôle principal dans le film du même nom de Paul Schrader. Cette chanson fut composée par Springsteen en guise de "dédommagement", pour avoir dérobé au réalisateur le titre initialement prévu pour son film, et qui était... "Born in the U.S.A." Du coup, le film s'est intitulé "Light Of Day".
